Join 2018 QLD International Student Advisory Panel

13th February 2018

Applications are open until 15 Feb 2018  for students to join the 2018 Queensland International Student Advisory Panel (QISAP).

The International Education and Training Unit of Trade and Investment Queensland are looking for international students to apply to be a part of the 2018 QISAP.

The QISAP Panel forms part of overall governance of the International Education & Training Strategy and works closely with government and industry stakeholders advising on policy and programs benefiting international students across Queensland. For the panel to be representative of student views, the membership should represent the diversity of Queensland’s student cohort including a mix of gender, sector, countries and regions.

Study Cairns and the Cairns Student Hub encourage all students to apply, particularly those who have shown leadership skills and will represent the international student community appropriately.

Before applying we encourage you to read through the Guidelines and make sure you are eligible. Guidelines can be found at Study Queensland.

What is QISAP?

QISAP is an initiative under the International Education and Training Strategy to Advance Queensland 2016-2026. QISAP gives students a voice in the implementation of the strategy. The Queensland Government worked with the Council for International Students Australia (CISA) to co-create the QISAP model.

QISAP membership is selected at the start of each year and is comprised of international students representing different nationalities, gender, levels of study, and regions of Queensland to harness the diversity of the international student voice. QISAP advises the International Education and Training Unit (IETU) on key issues international students face living and studying in Queensland and also co- designs the Queensland International Student Leaders Forum (QISLF) and the International Students Meet Parliament (ISMP) events held in October each year.

In 2017 QISAP membership spanned 10 nationalities, 6 different regions of Queensland, and included students from Vocational Education and Training, English Language, and Higher Education.
